biography

Austin-based pianist and teacher, Michael Lenahan received his bachelor’s degree from The Juilliard School and Master’s degree from Rice University and is currently an Artist Diploma student at UT Austin. His teachers include Robert Satterlee, Jerome Lowenthal, Logan Skelton, Robert Roux, and Anton Nel. Michael maintains a multi-faceted performance career as a solo and chamber pianist. He had recent concerto appearances with the Butler School of Music Symphony Orchestra and the Miami Chamber Orchestra.

Michael has over a decade of teaching experience and has had over 100 private students in his lifetime. His past positions have included piano faculty at Juilliard’s Music Advancement Program in New York City and Brazosport Community College in Lake Jackson, TX. He currently teaches with Clavier-Werke School of Music, the Paula Wong Piano Academy, and Austin Chamber Music Association (ACMC), as well as maintains a private studio.

 

Michael is an active member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association), TMTA (Texas Music Teachers Association), and ADMTA (Austin District Music Teachers Association).
